The tooling fee of a full-customized TFT LCD panel solution is costly and the MOQ is higher for each batch. Therefore we suggest customers to semi-custom make TFT LCD display modules: select an existing standard tft panel size (from 0.9" to 15", e.g. 2.4", 3.5", 4.3" or 7"), then customize the FPC, interface, backlight mechanics and brightness, integrated PCB boards, cover lens and touch screen. What is the difference between full custom and semi-custom LCD?
Full custom means developing a new glass panel or display size with dedicated tooling, which costs more and has a higher MOQ. Semi-custom means starting from a standard panel and customizing the FPC, interface, backlight, PCB or touch - much cheaper with flexible order quantity. For most projects we recommend semi-custom.
How much is the tooling cost for a custom LCD?
Tooling cost depends on the display type and glass size. Monochrome LCD glass tooling is affordable for most projects, while full custom TFT or OLED panel tooling costs significantly more. Our engineering team evaluates your specification and advises the most cost-effective option.
What is the MOQ and lead time for custom LCD modules?
